Morrisville is named after Robert Morris, a Pennsylvania merchant and banker and financier of the American Revolution.  It is located directly across the Delaware River from Trenton, NJ.

In 1955, the Morrisville Little League Team claimed the Little League World Series title and long before that, Morrisville was actually considered as a location to house the capital of the Unted States.  It was voted down due to gographical  issues.
